The Australian actor was 32 when he made his debut as the iconic Marvel comic book character in the first X-Men film in 2000. He devoted himself to eight more films and even refused to take Pierce Brosnan’s place. James Bond. That role went to Daniel Craig. Hugh said in 2011, “I was about to shoot X-Men 2 and Wolverine became the thing in my life and I didn’t want to do two such iconic characters at once.”
