Episode 5 of the sixth season of The Doctor will air on October 31, 2022.
Titled Growth Opportunities, the Halloween-set episode follows Shawn and his colleagues at the hospital as they are called to treat Skylar, a young girl whose liver has failed due to a genetic disorder.
Skyler learns that the disease is the result of an affair between her mother and her father’s roommate, Mick, who proves to be the only compatible donor.
After initially refusing to help, Mick eventually agrees to undergo the transplant in order to save Skylar.
Meanwhile, Park, Jordan, and Danny treat a man named Chris who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Chris is a carer for his brother Ollie, who has suffered a traumatic brain injury, and his world is turned upside down when he learns his cancer is terminal.
At Park’s request, Sean shares his story of dealing with autism in an attempt to help put Chris and Ollie at ease.
Elsewhere, matters are complicated for Sean when his friend Lim turns down a potential surgery that could help his paralysis when Danica assures him that the near future is sparking.

The Good Doctor Season 6 Episode 6 will instead air on ABC on November 7 at 10/9c on Monday, November 14, 2022.
The upcoming chapter titled Hot and Bothered is the 100th episode of the show and will see the hospital staff and patients in extreme heat amidst the scorching heat.
Tensions rise between Sean and Danica when they clash in the middle of surgery following a disagreement over Lim’s treatment.
Meanwhile, the extreme heat causes a power outage at the hospital, forcing Lee and Dr. Glassman to come up with a quick solution to save the lives of hundreds of patients.

How many episodes are there in total?
Season 6 of The Good Doctor will have a total of 22 episodes.
The number of chapters in the new season makes it the longest installment of The Good Doctor to date.
For comparison, the previous longest installments of the series were seasons 3 and 4, which both contained 20 episodes, while all previous seasons contained 18 chapters.
This means that after Episode 6 arrives, there will be 16 more episodes before Season 6 ends in the spring of 2023.
